Advancing diversity, equity and inclusion was at the forefront for Niner Nation this year. In September, Chancellor Gaber appointed social work professor Cheryl Waites Spellman as the University’s interim chief diversity officer. And in April, a national search was launched for a permanent leader for this critical position.
