Shari Dunn joined the Chancellor’s Office in January 2012. As senior executive assistant to the chancellor, Dunn focuses on personal management of the chancellor’s time and workflow; manages the day-to-day coordination of the chancellor’s schedule; and provides research and analysis to the chancellor and chief of staff. She works with the chancellor to develop and drive her personal communication strategy internally and externally, including composing and editing correspondence, speeches, statements for media and public relations, and executive communications.
She is responsible for facilitating the flow of accurate communication among the chancellor, the chief of staff, on-campus administrators, UNC General Administration, the Board of Trustees, national and international dignitaries, community and political leaders, the general public, faculty, staff and students.
Prior to joining UNC Charlotte, Dunn held a similar role at Pfeiffer University for 12 years. She also has administrative experience in the banking and nonprofit sectors.
Dunn graduated from Wingate College with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and minors in Accounting and English. She earned a Master of Business Administration with a human resources concentration from Pfeiffer University.
