This year marks the 75th anniversary of UNC Charlotte’s founding. In that short time, we have grown from a single center serving 278 students through evening classes to North Carolina’s urban research university with more than 30,000 students.

Our 75th year is bringing triumph and transformation, and you can read about some of our more recent accolades below.

Charlotte is a university on the move, fearlessly shaping what’s next for our city, our state and our world. And we are just getting started.

UNC Charlotte's model response to the pandemic

Charlotte’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic received national recognition by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) for its outstanding results and potential to influence and serve as a model for other institutions.

Through the University’s collective efforts, we were able to deliver the highest quality education to our students — whether remotely or in person — while achieving record-breaking enrollment and fundraising goals.
