End of Semester Message to Students

Categories: Chancellor's Messages

Dear Niner Nation,

It’s hard to believe winter break is here. Whether you have already finished up and departed for home or are waiting to take that very last exam, I hope this note finds you well and feeling good about your progress this semester!

This weekend, we will celebrate 3,600 of you during commencement ceremonies. You have worked hard, overcome personal obstacles, persevered through the most unusual of learning circumstances over the past couple years, and achieved success. You make all of us who work at UNC Charlotte proud. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!

For our continuing students, if you haven’t had a chance to register for your spring semester courses, I encourage you to do so before winter break. This will help ensure you are able to take the classes you need to graduate on time. Your academic advisor is available to help you. Keep in mind that taking 15 credits per semester beginning your freshman year will save you more than $7,000 in tuition and allow you to graduate within four years. (Remember … 15 to Finish!)

This is such a busy time of year, and I hope you will have time during the break to rest and recharge. Please prioritize your health and well being. I wish you and your loved ones a safe, healthy and happy holiday season, and a bright start to 2023.

Sincerely,

Sharon L. Gaber
